Job summary

Information Commissioner’s Office invites applications for a Lead Auditor to join the Assurance team in Manchester. You will lead audits of organisations across sectors, assess compliance with information rights and data protection, and deliver practical recommendations that drive improvement.

As the face of the ICO, you will engage with stakeholders, develop audit approaches, and ensure rigorous reporting while upholding our values and professional standards. Hybrid working available.

Qualifications

• Experience monitoring or enforcing compliance standards.
• Ability to apply complex legislation to practical circumstances.
• Knowledge of IT and the management and protection of personal data.
• Understanding of business operations and data protection requirements.
• Strong written communication skills and report writing.

Responsibilities

• Lead audit activities across a range of engagements.
• Review processes and policies to assess information rights compliance.
• Conduct interviews, tests and gather evidence to support assessments.
• Produce risk-based audit reports with prioritised recommendations.
• Represent the ICO at relevant stakeholder events.
