University of Cambridge in Cambridge is seeking a Senior Teaching Associate in Archaeological Science on an 8-month contract from 1 December 2026. The role is based in the Department of Archaeology on the Downing Site.

The post involves coordinating undergraduate and graduate courses, acting as Director of the MPhil in Archaeological Science, supervising dissertations, and contributing to assessment and examinations. Informal enquiries may be addressed to the Department Administrator.

Formación

• Good first degree and a doctorate or equivalent experience in an archaeological materials science subject.
• Evidence of ability to teach archaeological science effectively at undergraduate and Master's level, with an emphasis on materials science.
• Demonstrable experience with a range of scientific techniques employed in archaeomaterials.
• Good organisational abilities.
• Ability to play an effective role in the life and work of the Department.
• Ability to work as part of a team.
• Experience and knowledge of using digital teaching platforms.

Responsabilidades

• Coordinate and contribute to undergraduate and graduate courses in archaeological science, including lectures, practicals and seminars.
• Act as the Director of the MPhil in Archaeological Science, overseeing ca. 10–15 students per year.
• Contribute to other option papers as appropriate depending on interests.
• Some undergraduate and/or Master's dissertation supervision.
• Examination and assessment.
