Job summary

University of Exeter is seeking an Archaeology Laboratory Manager to lead and manage teaching laboratories and a small technical team on the Streatham Campus. The role focuses on delivering teaching and supporting research activities, with a strong emphasis on health, safety, COSHH, and risk assessments.

You will coordinate with academic staff on module requirements, ensure materials are available, and manage stock and equipment servicing, liaising with purchasing for large purchases.

Responsibilities

• Manage teaching laboratories and support technical activities including fieldwork.
• Oversee Health & Safety operations around all spaces and activities, including COSHH and Risk Assessments.
• Be responsible for the Health, Safety and Wellbeing of the technical team.
• Liaise with academic staff on module requirements and research processes, ensuring materials are available as required.
• Control all levels of stock materials and arrange servicing of laboratory equipment; liaise with purchasing on procurement of large equipment.
