Job summary

Thomson Environmental Consultants is seeking an aquatic consultant to join our Water team. You will manage and deliver complex aquatic projects, lead surveys, analyse data, and prepare technical reports to meet regulatory standards in riverine and estuarine environments.

Responsibilities include coordinating field surveys, liaising with clients and landowners, and contributing to business development while staying current with relevant legislation and techniques.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in aquatic ecology, hydro-ecology, or related fields.
• Strong knowledge of ecology/hydro-ecology survey techniques, assessments, legislation, and project management.
• Full, clean UK driving licence and access to a car with business insurance.

Responsibilities

• Lead and deliver aquatic ecology and/or hydrology projects, including surveys and consenting with environmental assessments.
• Produce high quality reporting and assessment deliverables within time and budget constraints.
• Coordinate field surveys, liaise with clients and landowners, ensure Thomson’s methods are followed.
• Assist in business development by preparing tenders, quotes, and supporting revenue growth.
• Stay updated on ecology/hydro-ecology legislation and techniques for CPD.
