Job summary

Monzo is seeking a Lead Analytics Engineer for its Borrowing Analytics Engineering Team in the UK. You will oversee foundational data platforms, design scalable data models, and drive opportunities to expand into new markets.

Strong emphasis on real-time analytics, governance, and cross-team collaboration to enable data-driven decision making. You will shape data standards, lead architecture across the domain, and mentor colleagues including data scientists and analysts.

Qualifications

• Experience in data modelling, ETL projects and Big Data.
• Strong SQL skills and data warehousing concepts.
• Ability to work with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
• Strategic thinking about data architectures and product insights.

Responsibilities

• Serve as data architect for Borrowing data and design scalable models.
• Develop downstream data models in BigQuery to support reporting, ML, and regulatory use cases.
• Maintain best practices for the Data Warehouse, including metadata and testing standards.
• Shape and maintain standards for data governance and integrity across Borrowing and Analytics Engineering.
• Lead central platform initiatives and promote knowledge sharing across teams.
• Collaborate with back-end engineers, product managers, and analysts to align data strategy with business goals.
