Job summary

Bombardier Inc. in London (Biggin Hill) seeks an Operations Leader to supervise structures support teams and deputise for the Operations Manager as required.

You will monitor labour needs, communicate technical updates, and drive continuous improvement to ensure safe, compliant aircraft maintenance. The role emphasizes leadership, environmental and health & safety compliance, and timely reporting of IOR and accidents.

Responsibilities

• Promote a Safety and Just culture within the team and ensure all company policies and procedures are adhered to.
• Deputisation for Operations Manager as required.
• Monitor and check labour requirements for structures support on all projects in work.
• Communicate internal technical updates to the operations leadership and project management teams on the status of assigned sheet metal tasks on the aircraft and in the Structures Workshop.
• Proactively lead continuous improvement within the team and promote accountability for assigned tasks.
• Ensure IOR and Accident reports are completed and submitted in a timely manner as required.
• Highlight issues to the Operations leadership before the GEMBA walk or escalate to the relevant leadership team in good time.
• Assist the Manager Operations with resource management, motivating and developing the team.
• Ensure the team are productive when there are no structures work.
• Ensure team up to date with Read & Signs.
• Be responsible for team compliance with environmental and Health & Safety regulations/guidelines.
• Ensure structures personnel assigned to tasks are qualified and/or competent to perform them.
• Monitor workmanship standards and compliance with regulations and company procedures to ensure continued airworthiness of the aircraft.
• Ensure documentation is up to date and tasks are completed with efficiency and in compliance with quality standards.
• Provide input on future GSE, tooling and consumable requirements to the Manager Operations and Director of Operations.
• Support and implement business change with a culture of continuous improvement.
