Job summary

Bombardier’s London Service Centre at Biggin Hill, a flagship maintenance site for Bombardier in Europe, is seeking an Aircraft Structures Technician Team Lead. The role leads structures support teams, ensuring safety, quality and timely delivery of tasks across base and line maintenance operations.

• Experience leading structures support teams in aircraft maintenance.

• Experience coordinating labour for structures work across projects.
• Effective communication of technical updates to leadership and project teams.
• Proactive in continuous improvement and accountability.
• Ensure IOR and Accident reports are completed timely.
• Knowledge of environmental and Health & Safety regulations.

Responsibilities

• Lead effective leadership and supervision of allocated personnel in providing structures support for the Operations and UMT teams.
• Promote a Safety and Just culture within the team and ensure policy adherence at all times.
• Deputise for Operations Manager as required.
• Monitor and check labour requirements for structures support on all projects in work.
• Communicate internal technical updates to the operations leadership and project management teams on status of sheet metal tasks in aircraft and Structures Workshop.
• Lead continuous improvement within the team and promote accountability for tasks.
• Ensure IOR and Accident reports are completed and submitted in a timely manner.
• Highlight issues to Operations leadership before GEMBA or escalate to leadership.
• Assist the Manager Operations with resource management and team development.
• Ensure the team is productive when there are no structures work.
• Ensure team up-to-date with Read & Signs.
• Be exceptional by design and ensure compliance with env. and Health & Safety regs.
• Ensure structures personnel are qualified and competent to perform tasks.
• Monitor workmanship standards and compliance to ensure continued airworthiness.
• Maintain up-to-date documentation and use of applicable technical data.
• Provide input on future GSE, tooling and consumables to Manager Operations and Director of Operations.
• Support and implement business change with a culture of continuous improvement.

Bombardier’s Business Aircraft London Service Centre in Biggin Hill is part of an award-winning network and is the flagship of Bombardier’s European operation. This Base and Line Maintenance Centre is the fastest-growing Service Centre in Europe and the largest Business Aircraft OEM in the UK. The facility has the capabilities to perform an array of maintenance checks, modifications and upgrades all from this site.
