Job summary

RTX, in collaboration with OMNIA Training, seeks a Senior AI Solution Engineer to lead AI/ML design and deployment for British Army training initiatives. You will work in a matrix structure and contribute to secure, scalable AI systems across defence programs.

The role requires strong Python, ML frameworks, end-to-end ML pipelines, API/microservices, DevSecOps, and the ability to communicate complex concepts to non-technical stakeholders while maintaining documentation and compliance with

Qualifications

• Strong Python programming skills for AI/ML development.
• Hands-on experience with major ML frameworks (PyTorch, TensorFlow, scikit-learn).
• End-to-end ML pipelines: data ingestion, preprocessing, training, evaluation, deployment.
• APIs / microservices integration with ML components.
• Experience with CI/CD and containerised deployments (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Experience in cloud or controlled compute environments.
• Ability to document technical solutions for maintainability and auditability.
• Awareness of responsible AI, bias mitigation, and data protection.
• Ability to work in regulated environments and communicate to non-technical stakeholders.
• Security cleared or ability to obtain (SC or above).

Responsibilities

• Develop and deploy AI/ML solutions aligned with Army training objectives.
• Maintain ML pipelines from data preprocessing to evaluation and deployment.
• Integrate AI capabilities into secure DevSecOps environments.
• Monitor models and retrain to ensure operational effectiveness.
• Collaborate with data engineers and software teams for scalable AI components.
• Document technical solutions for maintainability and auditability.
• Mentor AI Solution Engineer staff and lead scopes of work.
• Lead remediation and optimisation when risks arise.
• Support stakeholder demonstrations and technical briefings.
