Job summary

Bristol NHS Foundation Trust is recruiting for a Consultant in Acute Medicine at Weston General Hospital to lead the Acute Medical Unit and play a key role in the Same Day Emergency Care (SDEC) unit. The role offers opportunities to influence clinical pathways and service development.

You will join a welcoming, multidisciplinary team committed to delivering high-quality patient care and ongoing service improvement in a beautiful town with excellent links to the Southwest.

Qualifications

• MRCP / FRCP / MBBS and GMC registration.
• CCT in Acute or General Medicine or within 12 months of award.
• Teaching or training qualifications.
• Experience leading an acute admitting medical team.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical leadership for the multi-disciplinary team.
• Lead ward rounds and manage admissions.
• Direct management of patients and perform procedures.
• Teach junior doctors and other staff.
• Attend multidisciplinary meetings and governance activities.
