Job summary

University Hospitals Bristol and Weston NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Consultant in Acute Medicine to lead and shape the service at Weston General Hospital. You will join a multidisciplinary team, provide clinical leadership, supervise rounds, and drive patient care improvements across the Acute Medical Unit and SDEC.

The post offers a competitive salary (£113,565 - £150,569 pa pro rata), full-time hours, and rewarding incentives including a bonus.

Qualifications

• Clinical leadership and team leadership skills.
• Ward rounds and patient management experience.
• Teaching junior doctors and staff.
• Collaboration with Emergency Department and related specialties.

Responsibilities

• Lead ward rounds and direct patient care in the Acute Medical Unit.
• Oversee admissions, referrals and daily governance within Acute Medicine.
• Provide clinical leadership to a multi-disciplinary team and support junior staff.
• Collaborate with colleagues across Trust and cross-site services as required.
