Job summary

FCC Environment is seeking a Leachate Compliance Technician to support monitoring and management of leachate systems across a national landfill portfolio. You will carry out site investigations, collect and analyse environmental data, use specialist equipment, and help ensure environmental compliance across multiple sites.

The role is full-time with hybrid location and travel requirements. Salary ranges from £27,190 to £33,988 with benefits and progression opportunities.

Qualifications

• Educated to A-Level standard or able to demonstrate relevant environmental experience.
• Experience in environmental monitoring or waste industry is advantageous.
• Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to work.

Responsibilities

• Monitor leachate levels and assess leachate systems across landfill sites.
• Carry out on-site investigations using specialist environmental monitoring equipment.
• Collect and record accurate environmental data.
• Operate dip meters and CCTV systems to investigate leachate infrastructure.
• Monitor leachate tank levels through telemetry systems and escalate issues when required.
• Produce reports and enter investigation findings into company databases.
• Support the identification of environmental issues and help develop remedial solutions.
• Work closely with operational, environmental and site management teams.
• Maintain compliance with company procedures and environmental standards.
• Work safely outdoors throughout the year in varying weather conditions.
