Job summary

FCC Environment is seeking a Leachate Compliance Technician to monitor leachate levels and assess systems at landfill sites, using environmental monitoring equipment on-site. You will collect data, generate reports and help identify remedial actions, collaborating with operations and environmental teams.

Qualifications

• Educated to A-Level standard or equivalent environmental experience.
• Experience in environmental monitoring or the waste industry is advantageous.
• Ability to analyse data and identify trends.

Responsibilities

• Monitor leachate levels and assess conditions across landfill sites.
• Carry out on-site investigations using environmental monitoring equipment.
• Collect and record accurate environmental data.
• Operate dip meters and CCTV to investigate leachate infrastructure.
• Monitor leachate tank levels through telemetry systems and escalate issues when required.
• Produce reports and enter investigation findings into company databases.
• Support the identification of environmental issues and remedial solutions.
• Work closely with operational, environmental and site management teams.
• Maintain compliance with company procedures and environmental standards.
• Work safely outdoors throughout the year in all weather conditions.

What will you be doing?

• Monitoring leachate levels and assessing the condition of leachate systems across landfill sites
• Carrying out on-site investigations using specialist environmental monitoring equipment
• Collecting and recording accurate environmental data
• Operating equipment such as dip meters and CCTV systems to investigate leachate infrastructure
• Monitoring leachate tank levels through telemetry systems and escalating issues when required
• Producing reports and entering investigation findings into company databases
• Supporting the identification of environmental issues and helping to develop appropriate remedial solutions
• Working closely with operational, environmental and site management teams
• Maintaining compliance with company procedures and environmental standards
• Working safely outdoors throughout the year in a variety of weather conditions

What are we looking for?
