MBDA is advancing to deploy Laser Directed Energy Weapon (LDEW) technology on Royal Navy warships. This role focuses on translating advanced laser physics into deployable naval air-defence capabilities within a tight deployment timeline.

We seek technically astute engineers with a PhD or substantial industry experience, capable of communicating complex concepts to diverse stakeholders while delivering high-quality, mission-critical systems.

Qualifications

• PhD or significant industry experience in laser technology at system level.
• Ability to understand and influence high power laser design.

Responsibilities

• Translate cutting-edge laser physics into a rugged, certified weapon system.
• Oversee design certification and final system integration across the lifecycle.
