Job summary

Kemp Recruitment Ltd is recruiting for a qualified LCV Technician in Darlington. You will service and repair Mercedes-Benz and Iveco LCVs on a 4 on 4 off days schedule (6am-6pm) with overtime. A strong focus on safety and quality and potential progression toward HGV maintenance are offered.

The role requires Level 3 LCV Technician certification, relevant LCV experience, a full UK driving licence, and the ability to work within a busy workshop alongside experienced technicians.

Qualifications

• Qualified LCV technician with Level 3 or equivalent.
• Experience servicing and diagnosing light commercial vehicles.
• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
• Full UK driving license essential.

Responsibilities

• Carry out routine servicing and maintenance on LCVs.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical/electrical faults.
• Prepare vehicles for MOT testing.
• Complete repairs efficiently to minimise downtime.
• Complete job cards and workshop documentation.
• Follow health and safety procedures.
• Work independently and in a team.

LCV Technician

Location: Darlington

Salary: £17.50 per hour + Overtime

Shift Pattern: 4 on 4 off days - 6am-6pm

We are recruiting for a qualified LCV Technician to join a busy and well-equipped workshop in Darlington. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced technician looking for a great work-life balance with a 4 on, 4 off shift pattern.

The role will primarily involve the servicing, maintenance, diagnostics and repair of Mercedes-Benz and Iveco light commercial vehicles, ensuring all work is completed to the highest standards of safety and quality.

For technicians looking to progress their career, there is a genuine opportunity to upskill and train towards becoming a qualified HGV Technician, gaining valuable experience and qualifications while working alongside experienced heavy vehicle technicians.

The Role

• Carry out routine servicing, inspections and maintenance on LCVs.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults.
• Prepare vehicles for MOT testing.
• Complete repairs efficiently to minimise vehicle downtime.
• Accurately complete job cards and workshop documentation.
• Follow all workshop health and safety procedures.
• Work independently and as part of a professional workshop team.

Requirements

• Level 3 qualified LCV Technician (or equivalent).
• Previous experience working on light commercial vehicles.
• Experience with Mercedes-Benz and/or Iveco vehicles is highly desirable.
• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills.
• Good understanding of mechanical and electrical systems.
• Full UK Driving Licence.
• Positive attitude with a commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship.
• A willingness to develop new skills and progress into HGV maintenance is advantageous.
