Job summary

AutoSkills (United Kingdom) is seeking an experienced LCV Technician in Northampton to maintain, service and repair light commercial vehicles. You’ll diagnose faults, perform mechanical and electrical repairs and ensure all work meets DVSA standards. The role offers a stable, full-time position with a regular daytime pattern.

You’ll work as part of a professional workshop team, with opportunities for training and career progression, and a 40-hour week plus a one-in-two Saturday rota.

Qualifications

• Level 3 / City & Guilds or NVQ qualification in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair.
• Previous experience working on light commercial vehicles / vans.
• Strong diagnostic skills are essential.
• Good mechanical and electrical fault-finding ability.
• Experience with vehicle servicing, maintenance and repairs.
• Good attention to detail and pride in workmanship.
• A reliable and professional approach to work.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out routine vehicle maintenance to DVSA standards.
• Servicing, maintaining and repairing light commercial vehicles.
• Preparing and presenting vehicles for MOT inspections.
• Diagnosing vehicle faults using diagnostic equipment.
• Carrying out mechanical and electrical repairs.
• Ensuring all work is completed safely and to a high standard.
• Completing all required paperwork and job documentation accurately.
• Maintaining good housekeeping standards within the workshop.
• Following all Health & Safety procedures and company standards.
• Working as part of a professional team to minimise vehicle downtime.

Salary: £20.00 - £22.00 per hour, depending on experience

Hours: 8:00am - 5:30pm, Monday to Friday

Saturday: One in two Saturdays
