What You'll Bring:

We’re seeking a Lawyer – Regulatory (Data Protection and Financial Services) to join our growing Legal team.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

• Providing legal advice regarding product development, enterprise change, and data asset use, ensuring compliance with license terms, legislation, industry codes, and policies.
• Conducting legal and regulatory horizon-scanning, risk assessments of regulatory changes for internal teams.
• Supporting Government Relations by engaging with external stakeholders, responding to consultations, and queries from regulators and trade bodies.
• Managing consumer litigation, instructing external legal counsel, and supporting the Data Protection Officer with ICO complaints and complex queries.
• Advising on compliant use of data assets for service development and operational changes, including innovative proposals.
• Maintaining knowledge of contracts, legislation, industry codes, and policies affecting data use.
• Creating horizon scanning content for internal stakeholders and providing risk assessments on developments.
• Supporting the Data Protection Officer with privacy notices and DPIAs.
• Representing the Data Protection Officer at oversight committees and during regulator engagements.
• Assisting with incident assessments, regulatory notifications, and compliance measures.
• Assessing new regulatory developments and training colleagues on their impact.
• Providing legal support to data governance, product development, and operational teams.
• Following and improving internal legal processes and driving process innovation.
• Licensed legal practitioner with experience in information services or regulated financial sectors.
• Deep understanding of UK data privacy laws (UK GDPR, DPA 2018) and FCA regulation.
• Ability to acquire expert knowledge of regulator universe and technical understanding of TU’s products.
• Strong collaboration skills in a fast-paced, commercial environment.
• Excellent interpersonal, organizational, communication, and documentation skills.
