Job summary

Essential Employment seeks a qualified lawyer to join our Sheffield team on a temporary basis. The role pays £24.46 per hour PAYE and requires leading a high‑performing team delivering expert legal support across commercial and residential property, regeneration and development matters.

The successful candidate will manage a varied caseload, provide clear, commercially focused advice, and work with senior officers, external lawyers and developers to progress major projects.

The successful candidate will lead a high‑performing team delivering expert legal support across complex commercial and residential property, regeneration and development matters. They will confidently manage a varied caseload, including high‑profile and technically challenging work, while providing clear, robust and commercially focused legal advice. They will demonstrate strong leadership, supporting and developing a friendly and hardworking group of lawyers and professional officers across Property, Planning, Highways and Local Land Charges.

The successful candidate will work collaboratively with senior officers, external lawyers, developers and a well‑established regeneration and commercial property team, ensuring high‑quality service delivery and effective progression of major projects. They will bring recognised legal qualifications, extensive experience in complex property and regeneration matters, excellent communication and drafting skills, and proven managerial capability.
