Job summary

Cornerstone Healthcare Group is seeking a dedicated Laundry Assistant to support residents at South Africa Lodge in Waterlooville. The role focuses on maintaining clean linens and clothing for residents with complex care needs.

You will work a 7 out of 14 day pattern (3 days, then 4 days) averaging 30 hours per week, with opportunities for overtime, DBS clearance provided, and various staff benefits.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 6 months experience with laundry in a care setting (essential).
• Ability to work alone, as well as in a team, and form positive relationships with colleagues, residents and visitors.
• Must have a positive attitude to residents.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Previous experience working in laundry in a care home (desirable).

Responsibilities

• Laundering and ironing a range of materials including residents' personal clothing as well as bedding and kitchen linen.
• Ensure that all bed, table and kitchen linen is laundered to a satisfactory standard.
• Keep the laundry area clean and maintain separate areas for freshly laundered and soiled articles.
• Segregate and distribute residents' clothing and linen as requested.
• Comply with COSHH, Environmental Health and Fire Procedures.
• Abide by the Company’s health and safety policy in handling soiled materials.

What You’ll Bring

Your Working Pattern

Working for us gives you more time for you with a 7 out of 14 day working pattern

• Week 1 – 3 days: (07.00 to 17.00)
• Week 2 – 4 days: (07.00 to 17.00)

Total average of 30 hours per week

What You’ll Be Doing

• Laundering and ironing a range of materials including residents personal clothing as well as bedding and kitchen linen
• Ensure that all bed, table and kitchen linen is laundered to a satisfactory standard
• Keep the laundry area kept clean and separate areas maintained for freshly laundered and soiled articles
• To segregate and distribute resident’s clothing and linen as requested
• Complying with regulations including COSHH, Environmental Health and Fire Procedures
• Abide by the Company’s health and safety policy specifically in the handling of soiled materials
