Job summary

Cornerstone Healthcare Group is seeking a compassionate Laundry Assistant to join our South Africa Lodge team in Waterlooville. You will launder and iron a range of materials, keep areas clean, and handle resident clothing with care.

This role supports residents with complex needs in a 99-bed home and requires a friendly, reliable approach. We offer enhanced pay for overtime, DBS and parking, free uniform laundering, training, and a comprehensive benefits package with pension and healthcare

Qualifications

• Minimum of 6 months experience with laundry in a care setting.
• Ability to work alone, as well as in a team and form positive relationships.
• Must have a positive attitude to residents.
• Effective communication skills (written and verbal).
• Previous laundry experience in a care home is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Laundering and ironing a range of materials including residents' clothing, bedding and kitchen linen.
• Ensure bed, table and kitchen linen are laundered to a satisfactory standard.
• Keep laundry area clean and segregate freshly laundered and soiled articles.
• Distribute resident clothing and linen as requested.
• Comply with COSHH, Environmental Health and Fire Procedures; follow health and safety policies.

South Africa Lodge is a 99-bed home providing exceptional care across six specialised units. We support residents living with complex needs, including neuro-degenerative conditions, dementia, and mental health challenges. What You’ll Bring

• Minimum of 6 months experience with laundry in a care setting
• You will have the ability to work alone, as well as a team and be able to form positive relationships with colleagues, residents and visitors
• Must have a positive attitude to residents
• Effective communication skills (both written and verbal)
• Previous experience working in laundry in a care home (desirable)

Your Working Pattern

Working for us gives you more time for you with a 7 out of 14 day working pattern

• Week 1 – 3 days: (07.00 to 17.00)
• Week 2 – 4 days: (07.00 to 17.00)

Total average of 30 hours per week

What You’ll Be Doing

• Laundering and ironing a range of materials including residents personal clothing as well as bedding and kitchen linen
• Ensure that all bed, table and kitchen linen is laundered to a satisfactory standard
• Keep the laundry area kept clean and separate areas maintained for freshly laundered and soiled articles
• To segregate and distribute resident’s clothing and linen as requested
• Complying with regulations including COSHH, Environmental Health and Fire Procedures
• Abide by the Company’s health and safety policy specifically in the handling of soiled materials
