Serencroft Limited is seeking a dependable Laundry Attendant to join our care home team in Stockport. You will be responsible for cleaning and maintaining residents' clothing and the home’s linen, ensuring a hygienic environment.

We are looking for a reliable and hardworking Laundry Attendant to join our care home team. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring that residents’ clothing and the home’s linen are cleaned, maintained, and returned promptly.
You will play an important role in maintaining a hygienic environment and supporting residents’ comfort, dignity, and wellbeing.
Wash, dry, and iron residents’ clothing, bedding, and linens in accordance with care home procedures and manufacturer instructions.
Ensure all residents’ clothing is clearly labelled before laundering.
Return clean laundry to residents within the required timeframe.
Handle soiled linen safely, following infection control procedures.
Wear appropriate protective equipment (PPE) when handling laundry.
Monitor the quality and availability of linen and report shortages.
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the laundry room.
Ensure laundry machines and equipment are kept clean and free from debris.
Report equipment faults or maintenance issues promptly.
Ensure safe use and storage of detergents and chemicals in line with COSHH regulations.
Maintain accurate records of laundry items sent to external cleaning services where required.
Maintain confidentiality and respect residents’ privacy at all times.
Prior experience in laundry services or housekeeping within a hotel, healthcare, or similar environment is preferred.
Knowledge of cleaning techniques, including dry cleaning processes, is advantageous.
Familiarity with laundry equipment operation and maintenance is desirable.
Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced setting.
Strong attention to detail with a commitment to maintaining high standards of hygiene and cleanliness.
Good communication skills and a respectful attitude towards residents and colleagues.
