About The Role
As a Laundry Assistant at HC One, kindness will be at the core of everything you do. It touches upon every aspect of our dementia, nursing, residential, and specialist care homes. Every person working here understands that our residents are individuals with their own stories to tell. By joining HC One, you'll have a wonderful opportunity to give back to these individuals.
Your responsibilities will include maintaining a high standard of order and tidiness in the laundry area, ensuring residents' clothing is kept in excellent condition. You will wash, dry, iron, and repair items as needed, maintain linen stocks for daily use, and report any issues to the Senior Housekeeper. The environment you create will reflect your attention to detail, safe, comfortable, and welcoming.
You will fold and separate linen and clothes for return to rooms or redistribution to the correct rooms, always with kindness. Your pride in completing work to the highest standards will help create a well-maintained environment, contributing to residents' longer, happier, and healthier lives.
We’re looking for someone with experience, ideally, but we’ll provide comprehensive training. You need excellent time management and organizational skills, along with a positive attitude and natural ability to connect with people. Being a good communicator—listening as well as giving instructions—is essential. You should be considerate and kind in all interactions with residents and colleagues.
Safeguarding is everyone's responsibility. You must be able to recognize signs of abuse, harm, or neglect and know the appropriate steps to take if concerns arise. All staff are required to attend safeguarding training relevant to their role and pursue additional training as needed. You should also be proactive in seeking advice and reporting concerns, including escalation if necessary.
Full training will be provided, offering a great opportunity to learn new skills. In return, you will have access to a wide range of benefits and services supporting your physical and psychological well-being. Throughout your career with us, we will invest in your development and provide additional support, including:
- Hourly rate subject to experience and qualifications.
- Paid enhanced DBS/PVG checks.
- Free uniform.
- A nutritious meal during shifts of eight hours or more.
- Company pension scheme.
