We’re looking for a friendly and reliable Laundry Assistant to join our team at Linden House in Lymington, Hampshire.
You’ll help make a difference to our residents’ everyday lives, ensuring their clothing and linen are freshly laundered, carefully presented and returned with care. If you take pride in a job well done and enjoy being part of a supportive team, we’d love to hear from you.
As part of our laundry team, you’ll provide a high-quality laundry service that supports our residents’ comfort, dignity and wellbeing.
Your day-to-day duties will include collecting and sorting laundry, washing, drying and ironing items according to their care labels, and returning clean clothing and linen to residents’ rooms or the appropriate cupboards. You’ll make sure personal clothing is clearly labelled and, where time allows, carry out small repairs, such as replacing missing buttons.
You’ll keep the laundry area and equipment clean and organised, replenish detergents and use supplies efficiently. Following your training, you’ll operate machinery and handle laundry products safely, reporting equipment faults, hazards or anything that could affect the service promptly.
Throughout your work, you’ll treat residents and their belongings with care and respect, always knocking before entering their rooms. You’ll respond politely to requests, report any complaints to the Home Manager and work closely with colleagues to maintain our standards, following Colten Care’s policies and completing relevant training.
You’re organised, dependable and have a keen eye for detail. You take pride in getting things right, understanding that a freshly pressed outfit or a carefully returned favourite jumper can make a real difference to someone’s day.
With a friendly, approachable manner, you’re comfortable speaking with residents and working alongside colleagues. You can manage your workload, adapt to changing priorities and use your initiative while following instructions and safe working practices.
Previous laundry or housekeeping experience would be helpful. Just as valuable are your willingness to learn, your practical approach and your commitment to providing a thoughtful, reliable service.
We’re an award-winning, family-owned, independent care home group, with an outstanding reputation in the industry. This is due to our amazing people and our focus on keeping the resident at the heart of everything we do.
We strive to be the best we can hence why all 21 of our nursing homes are rated at least good and 7 are outstanding by the CQC, our national regulator.
If a career in elderly care is for you then you want to be part of the team at Colten Care.
