Job summary

ASIA GRAND PTE. LTD. is seeking a reliable laundry packing operative in Penarth, UK. You will fold, pack and prepare items to required standards, ensuring orders match and items are labeled correctly.

This role requires attention to detail, stamina to stand for long periods, and flexibility to work shifts including weekends and public holidays. On-the-job training is provided, no formal qualifications required. 6-day work week with a supportive supervisor.

Qualifications

• No formal qualifications required; on-the-job training will be provided.
• Prior experience in laundry, housekeeping or packing is an advantage.
• Attention to detail, especially in spotting stains and damage.
• Able to follow instructions and packing standards accurately.
• Able to stand for long periods and handle repetitive folding and lifting tasks.
• Able to work shifts, weekends and public holidays as rostered.
• 6-days work week

Responsibilities

• Fold and pack all laundry neatly.
• Ensure all processed laundry is packed according to order.
• Inspect each item for stains, tears or damage before packing.
• Ensure work materials and tools are well stocked and inform supervisor when stock runs low.
• Keep folding and packing area clean and organised; follow safety procedures.
• Perform other related duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Key duties and responsibilities

1. Folding and packing
   - Fold and pack all laundry neatly.
   - Fold and pack in accordance with the required standards and specifications for each item or client.
2. Order accuracy
   - Ensure all processed laundry is packed according to order.
   - Check item type and quantity against the order before sealing and labelling.
3. Quality checks
   - Inspect each item for stains, tears or other damage before packing.
   - Report all stains and damage to the supervisor before packing, and set affected items aside for rewash or follow-up.
4. Materials and tools
   - Ensure work materials and tools are well stocked, including but not limited to plastic bags, teabags and packing supplies.
   - Inform the supervisor early when stock runs low.
5. Workplace upkeep and safety
   - Keep the folding and packing area clean and organised.
   - Follow workplace safety and hygiene procedures.
6. Perform other related duties as assigned by the supervisor.
