Job summary

Vision for Education is seeking Early Career Teachers (ECTs) to gain valuable classroom experience across York and surrounding areas. Work in supportive secondary schools delivering lessons in your specialist subject, with day-to-day supply, short-term placements, or longer fixed-term contracts.

You will teach in supportive environments, grow your practice, and build a teaching portfolio while exploring induction paths or longer-term positions. ECTs welcome with QTS or near qualification.

Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or be due to achieve QTS.
• Relevant degree or teaching qualification.
• Strong classroom management and communication skills.
• Flexibility to work across different school settings.

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging lessons aligned with the national curriculum.
• Create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
• Manage classroom behaviour and support pupil engagement.
• Assess and monitor pupil progress.
• Collaborate with school staff to support student development.
