Saffery Champness in Peterborough is offering a Graduate Audit Trainee position (ACA) starting September 2027. You’ll study towards the ACA while gaining hands-on experience across diverse audit engagements, building confidence in client financial reporting and controls.

The program combines professional study with on-the-job learning, with mentoring, tuition support and structured development over three years to prepare you for qualification and a career in audit.

Qualifications

• 2:1 undergraduate degree (any discipline) or equivalent.
• Minimum 120 UCAS points from top 3 A Levels/Highers.
• GCSE Maths and English at grade 6/B or higher.
• AAT Level 4 may exempt; ACA syllabus required otherwise.

Responsibilities

• Take audit through planning to completion.
• Support audit engagements across industries by testing financial information and controls.
• Prepare audit documentation and working papers.
• Work with client data using accounting systems and audit tools.
• Assist with planning and fieldwork at office and client sites.
• Build relationships with clients to understand their business.
• Identify discrepancies in financial information.
• Collaborate with colleagues to meet deadlines for quality audit work.
