Job summary

MBDA UK is seeking a Lead Engineer in Stevenage to work across systems, software and hardware domains, providing management of activities to support product certification and delivery of evidence to customers.

The role involves requirements capture, verification activities, and resolving customer queries, contributing to test strategies and documentation in a lab environment with hardware and test systems.

Qualifications

• Experience with requirements and verification management tools such as IBM DOORS.
• Knowledge of systems engineering principles, processes and practices.
• Appreciation of requirements engineering at System, Subsystem or Component level.
• Knowledge associated with the design and build of hardware.
• Awareness of test procedures required to verify products and the gathering of evidence to enable certification.
• Confidence in presenting technical engineering information and promoting decision making.
• Experience of technical report writing and use of configuration management tools.

Responsibilities

• Understand and perform the verification stages of the design lifecycle, defining clear test procedures and strategies.
• Work within a multi-discipline engineering team (e.g. Systems, mechanical, electrical, software etc…).
• Log and track defects found during V&V activities and resulting from customer queries, collaborating with development teams to resolve them.
• Own tasks and deliver results, managing schedule, cost, quality and performance metrics for assigned work packages.
• Working with the Head of LMS, LMS Architect, and LMS verification teams, use DOORS and IBM Rhapsody (and similar engineering requirements capture tools) to manage requirements, verification scenarios, test procedures, and evidence collection.
• Work within a laboratory environment with software, Test Equipment, and the electronic equipment under test.
