Job summary

Next Phase Recruitment Limited seeks an experienced Late-Stage Formulation Manager to lead a Formulation Development team in a pharmaceutical R&D environment. The role focuses on formulation development, optimisation, scale-up and technology transfer to ensure products are robust and ready for manufacture.

You will collaborate with R&D, Operations, Quality and Regulatory teams, providing technical leadership and developing the formulation team, while ensuring GMP and safety standards are upheld.

Qualifications

• A postgraduate qualification in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chemistry, Pharmacy or a related field.
• 5+ years' experience in pharmaceutical formulation development and scale-up.
• Experience with GMP and FDA/EMA/VICH/ICH requirements.
• Proven scientific team leadership and people-management experience.
• Strong communication, problem-solving and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead late-stage formulation and process development projects.
• Drive scale-up, technology transfer, stability and product characterisation activities.
• Apply QbD, risk assessment and process optimisation principles.
• Support regulatory submissions and technical documentation.
• Lead, coach and develop scientific staff.
• Ensure GMP, quality, health & safety and SOP requirements are maintained.
