Job summary

Soraya Recruitment is recruiting for an experienced Maintenance Engineer / Maintenance Fitter to join a growing recycling company on a permanent late-shift basis in Coventry. The role requires hands-on mechanical maintenance expertise, with responsibilities spanning PPMs, fault-finding and repairs on conveyors and processing machinery, ensuring safe, efficient operation on site.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Maintenance Engineer or Maintenance Fitter.
• Strong mechanical maintenance and fault-finding experience.
• Experience with conveyors, bearings, shafts, hydraulic systems and production machinery.
• Good health and safety understanding in an industrial environment.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Reliable, practical hands-on maintenance approach.
• Strong work ethic and positive attitude.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) across the site.
• Inspect, grease and service plant and machinery.
• Replace bearings, shafts, rollers and other components.
• Diagnose and replace hydraulic hoses and associated components.
• Carry out breakdown repairs and mechanical fault finding.
• Maintain conveyors, processing equipment and associated machinery.
• Assist with maintenance on mobile plant when required.
• Reset electrical breakers and assist with basic electrical fault diagnosis.
• Identify recurring faults and report issues to management.
• Complete maintenance records accurately and in a timely manner.
• Work closely with the operations team to minimise downtime and maintain plant performance.
• Ensure all work is carried out safely and in accordance with company procedures and health and safety requirements.
