The British Museum is seeking a Project Curator: Late Medieval Europe to research, document and enhance knowledge of its Later Medieval Britain and Europe collection (c.1100–1500). The role is full-time, hybrid (on-site in Bloomsbury, London) for 12 months.

You will work with colleagues across the Museum, applying specialist knowledge to care, description and access of objects, and contribute to curatorial projects and broader collections activity. Benefits and support are provided.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of Later Medieval Britain and Europe (c.1100–1500).
• Experience with museum collections and object care.
• Ability to document collections accurately and accessibly.
• Organised and collaborative, with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Research objects and collections related to Later Medieval Britain and Europe using scholarly sources.
• Document the collection accurately to improve knowledge and accessibility.
• Support care, management and development of the relevant collections.
• Contribute to curatorial projects and other activities for the Later Medieval European collections.
• Collaborate with colleagues across the Museum and share expertise.
• Communicate research and specialist knowledge clearly to colleagues and wider audiences.
