Job summary

Redline Group Ltd is seeking a hands-on Laser Application Support Engineer to join the team in Abingdon, Oxfordshire on a 6-month fixed-term contract. You will support the development, commissioning and optimisation of laser-based machinery and processes with close collaboration to customers and internal engineering teams.

The role involves laser applications, machine commissioning and laser alignment, with CO2 laser experience highly advantageous.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with lasers and laser-based machinery in engineering or R&D.
• Experience with laser alignment or laser processing; CO2 laser experience advantageous.
• Solid understanding of complete laser systems beyond components.
• Physics degree or related discipline preferred.

Responsibilities

• Work on practical laser applications and tailor systems to requirements.
• Support commissioning and alignment of optical machines.
• Design experiments to establish laser process conditions.
• Carry out laser alignment in a hands-on environment.
• Support R&D and process development with CO2 lasers and micromachining.
