Job summary

Redline Group Ltd in Abingdon, Oxfordshire, is seeking a Laser Application Support Engineer on a 6‑month fixed term contract to support development, commissioning and optimisation of laser-based machinery.

This hands‑on role involves laser applications, machine commissioning, laser alignment and process development, working with customers and internal teams to tailor laser processes to specific requirements. CO2 laser experience would be advantageous.

Qualifications

• Practical, hands-on experience with lasers and laser-based machinery.
• Experience with laser alignment, laser applications or using laser systems to process materials.
• A degree in Physics or a related technical discipline would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Working on practical laser applications and collaborating with end-users to tailor laser systems and processes to specific requirements.
• Supporting the commissioning and alignment of optical machines, ensuring systems are correctly set up and operational.
• Designing and carrying out experiments to establish the appropriate laser process conditions to meet customer requirements.
• Carrying out laser alignment and working with laser beams in a practical, hands-on environment.
• Working with CO2 lasers and micromachining systems to support R&D activities, customer samples and process development.
