At Places for People, we hire People, not numbers! So, if you like the sound of one of our jobs, please apply - you could be just who we're looking for! Of course, experience and track record are important, but we're more interested in hiring someone that embodies our People Promises. That's someone who does the right thing, is enthusiastic and motivated to grow, believes in community spirit, is respectful, and enjoys their work. As the UK's leading social enterprise, we're dedicated to creating inclusive and thriving communities for both our customers and employees.

So, what are you waiting for? Join a community that cares about you!

More about your role

You will be responsible for landscaping tasks such as mowing, edging, trimming hedges, and maintaining soft landscaping areas. This includes planting trees, flowers, and shrubs, clearing snow from pedestrian areas, and ensuring walkways and car parks are properly maintained. You'll conduct weekly checks on groundskeeping equipment, perform litter picks, remove fly-tipped items across schemes, and address issues like dog fouling and sharps. You'll apply herbicides, fungicides, or insecticides when needed and occasionally carry out hard landscaping tasks. You will also participate in estate improvement works, prioritize areas, and assist with compliance checks to keep the estate safe and clean. As part of our employment checks, this role will require you to complete a satisfactory Basic DBS check.

We are recruiting for 3 roles.

Although this role is advertised in a specific location, you will be required to work in surrounding areas.

  • PA1 and PA6 NPTC Spraying License
  • Needle and Sharp awareness
  • Hold a valid manual driving license (must be able to tow)
More about you

You must have a current manual driving license, ideally with the ability to tow. You'll need a PA1 and PA6 NPTC Spraying License and be aware of needle and sharp safety. A good working knowledge of estate management issues and strong communication skills are essential. Experience in similar services is preferred, as well as IT literacy to use smartphones/tablets and messaging/file-sharing tools. You should be able to work independently, meet deadlines, and complete tasks to quality standards. You'll work as part of a team, communicating effectively with colleagues, maintaining positive relationships with customers, and respecting both colleagues and estates.

We are a large, diverse, and ambitious business, which will give you all the challenges you could wish for.

We know there's always more we can do to make you smile, which is why we offer a comprehensive benefits package with each role, including:
