Job summary

Randstad CPE is recruiting an experienced landscaper for a short-term contract on a new build housing development in Newcastle. The role focuses on prepping plot gardens and communal spaces to handover standard, alongside the site team to clear plots, distribute topsoil, and layout gardens for turfing and planting.

The position requires a valid CSCS card, strong ground preparation and soft landscaping experience on residential sites, and the ability to perform physically demanding outdoor tasks.

Qualifications

• Valid CSCS Card (Essential).
• Ground preparation and soft landscaping experience on new build sites.
• Able to carry out heavy lifting and outdoor tasks.
• Full PPE (Hard hat, high-visibility, steel toe boots).
• Based in or near Newcastle upon Tyne.
• Diligent, punctual and detail-oriented.

Responsibilities

• Clear garden plots of rubble, rock, and construction debris.
• Spread, grade, and level topsoil across front and rear gardens.
• Prepare ground for turf laying, seeding, and planting beds.
• Assist with basic soft landscaping duties across the development.
• Operate basic landscaping tools safely and efficiently.
• Work as part of a team to leave plots immaculate and ready for handover.

About the Role:

We are currently recruiting an experienced landscaper for a short-term contract on a new build housing development in Newcastle.

This role focuses on getting plot gardens and communal green spaces prepped and finished to handover standard. You will be working alongside the site team to clear plots, distribute topsoil, and lay out gardens ready for turfing and planting.

Key Responsibilities:

• Clearing garden plots of rubble, rock, and construction debris.
• Spreading, grading, and leveling topsoil across front and rear gardens.
• Preparing ground for turf laying, seeding, and planting beds.
• Assisting with basic soft landscaping duties as required across the development.
• Operating basic landscaping tools and equipment safely and efficiently.
• Working as part of a team to ensure plots are left immaculate, safe, and organised for plot completion and customer handover.

Requirements:

• Valid CSCS Card (Essential).
• Solid ground preparation and soft landscaping experience on new build residential sites.
• Ability to carry out physically demanding outdoor tasks, including heavy lifting and raking.
• Full PPE (Hard hat, high-vis jacket/vest, steel toe cap boots).
• Strong work ethic, punctuality, and attention to detail.
• Based in or within easy commuting distance of Newcastle upon Tyne.
