Job summary

Manchester City Council is recruiting a Landlord Compliance Coordinator to support landlord compliance and building safety within Housing Services, with initial focus on the Awaab's Law framework. You will provide high-quality administrative support, manage records and compliance data, coordinate no-access cases, decants, repairs, and ensure actions meet statutory timescales.

This 35-hour-per-week, temporary (12 months) role offers an inclusive environment and opportunities to help residents

Qualifications

  • Experience of providing administrative support within a busy service environment.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks, priorities, and deadlines.
  • Experience of maintaining accurate records and databases with a high level of attention to detail.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to produce professional correspondence.
  • Experience of managing shared inboxes and responding to enquiries in a timely and customer-focused manner.

Responsibilities

The Housing Services team has a key role in delivering safe, healthy and high-quality homes for Residents across our city. As a Landlord Compliance Coordinator, you will play an important role in supporting Manchester City Council's landlord compliance and building safety functions. Whilst the post supports a range of compliance services across Housing Services, the initial focus of this role will be within the Awaabs Law team. You will provide high quality administrative and Resident focused support, helping to ensure that HHSRS cases are managed effectively and that the Council meets its statutory responsibilities and timescales.

If you're successful, you'll join a dedicated team of colleagues supporting the delivery of landlord compliance and building safety services across Manchester's council housing stock. Your work will be vital in helping Housing Services meet the requirements of Awaab's Law and ensuring our Residents receive timely, effective and resident-focused support.

We would love to hear from you if you have experience of delivering high-quality administrative support in a fast-paced environment and are passionate about providing excellent customer service. You'll be highly organised, able to manage competing priorities, and committed to ensuring compliance with statutory requirements while supporting Residents and colleagues effectively.

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate:

  • Experience of providing administrative support within a busy service environment.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks, priorities, and deadlines.
  • Experience of maintaining accurate records and databases with a high level of attention to detail.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to produce professional correspondence.

  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong customer service skills with the ability to deal sensitively and professionally with residents and stakeholders.
  • Experience of using Microsoft Office applications, particularly Outlook, Word, Excel, and Teams.
  • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information appropriately.
  • Experience of monitoring actions and ensuring tasks are completed within required timescales.
  • Understanding of the importance of compliance and adherence to policies, procedures, and statutory requirements.
The experience below would be desirable requirements that would be useful in this role:
  • Experience of working within a housing, local government, or social housing environment.
  • Knowledge of Awaab's Law and the regulatory requirements relating to damp, mould, and housing condition cases.
  • Experience of coordinating appointments, access arrangements, decants, or resident support activities.
  • Experience of raising and tracking repair orders using housing management or repairs systems.
  • Experience of managing compliance trackers, performance reports, or case management systems.
  • Understanding of housing repairs, compliance, and resident safety requirements.
  • Experience of working with Residents who may be vulnerable or require additional support.
  • Knowledge of Manchester City Council's housing services and customer service standards.
  • Experience of working collaboratively across multiple teams and services to achieve positive outcomes.
