Job summary

ALTEN LTD - UK is seeking a Performance Dynamics Engineer in Gloucester to lead analysis, simulation, and optimisation of landing gear systems across the product lifecycle. You will develop computational models, perform dynamic simulations, and support validation through testing and analysis.

Working in a multidisciplinary engineering environment, you will collaborate with design, stress, test, and systems teams to ensure technical excellence and compliance with customer requirements.

Qualifications

• Experience in dynamics, performance analysis, simulation, or mechanical systems engineering in a regulated environment.
• Strong hands-on experience with MSC ADAMS is mandatory.
• Experience developing, analysing, and validating engineering models and simulations.

Responsibilities

• Develop computational models and perform dynamic simulations of landing gear systems.
• Calculate static and dynamic loads to support design and certification activities.
• Conduct performance evaluations and frequency response analyses.
• Perform stability, shimmy, modal, vibration, and failure case analyses.
• Correlate, validate, and maintain simulation models against test data and operational performance.
• Define and validate performance and dynamics requirements for landing gear systems.
• Prepare simulation plans, analysis methodologies, and pass/fail acceptance criteria.
• Optimise engineering solutions in collaboration with cross-functional engineering teams.
• Define test requirements and support the analysis and interpretation of test results.
• Ensure all engineering activities are delivered in line with programme schedules, quality standards, and cost objectives.
