Job summary

Survey Solutions is seeking a highly capable Land & Measured Building Surveyor for our Brentwood office. You will independently perform topographical and measured building surveys, using laser scanners and traditional methods, and process data in the office to a high standard.

You will guide junior team members and contribute to multi-disciplinary projects. The role requires 2–3+ years in surveying, a full UK driving licence, and right to work in the UK.

Qualifications

• 2–3+ years of surveying industry experience.
• Experience completing small to large scale topographical surveys independently.
• Experience completing measured building surveys with laser scanners or traditional methods.
• Experience processing raw survey and CAD data to a high standard.
• Knowledge of traversing and GPS control networks.
• Extensive knowledge of topographical surveying methods and equipment.

Responsibilities

Job description

Survey Solutions is a leading engineering surveyor specialising in land, measured building and underground utility surveys as well as monitoring and site engineering schemes. We are looking to appoint a Surveyor within the land department in our Brentwood office. We have a network of ten offices with our teams of surveyors and engineers working on some of the UK’s major construction and infrastructure developments.

As a Surveyor at Survey Solutions, you will work independently completing a full range of small to large scale topographical, measured building and setting out surveys, using innovative technology and processing data in the office to a high working standard. You will be confident working on multi-disciplined survey projects and will have a competent understanding of various surveying methods and data capture.

You will also share your expertise and knowledge with less experienced team members to assist their development, by providing practical experience onsite and office-based work.

This is a full-time role with office hours of Monday to Friday from 9.00 – 5.30, however site hours will vary so overtime and occasional weekend working will be required.

Responsibilities

As a Land & Measured Building Surveyor, you will:

• Complete topographical surveys and measured building surveys, of various scale and complexity, independently to a high standard
• Work on large and complex surveying projects with team members of various technical ability and experience, to complete the project to a high standard
• Provide guidance and direction to team members on large and complex survey projects
• Work effectively on projects with trainee, junior and survey technician level staff, assisting with their development by providing practical experience onsite
• Process multi data sets from various instrumentation to a high working standard, including topographical and measured building data
• Demonstrate competent knowledge of traversing and GPS control networks
• Undertake initial site inspections and complete dynamic risk assessments when attending survey sites, reporting any safety issues to the wider surveying team or to management

Requirements

• Previous experience working in the surveying industry (2-3+ years).
• Previous experience completing small to large scale topographical surveys, of various complexities, independently
• Previous experience completing measured building surveys, of various scales or complexities, with laser scanners and/or traditional methods independently
• Experience processing raw survey data and CAD data to a high working standard
• Experience and knowledge of traversing and GPS control networks
• Extensive technical knowledge and previous practical experience of topographical surveying, including experience using surveying equipment and software
