Job description

Join to apply for the Land Acquisition Manager role at Solaria Energía y Medio Ambiente

Solaria is a leading Spanish company specializing in the development and generation of renewable energy across Southern Europe. With a mission to actively contribute to decarbonization, we are committed to transitioning the global energy model to one based on clean, sustainable solutions—anchoring sustainability at the core of our strategy and business operations.

We are currently seeking a Land Acquisition Manager to join our UK team. In collaboration with the company and country manager, this role will design and implement the land acquisition strategy for our development projects in key target areas. This position is crucial to advancing Solaria’s growth in PV, onshore wind, and BESS technologies, with a specific focus on driving our renewable energy initiatives in Wales.

Responsibilities:
  • The role forms part of the Origination team of Solaria in United Kingdom, where we have a growing pipeline of projects under development. The Land Manager will work closely with the Solaria's Development Project Managers in negotiating and securing the necessary legal agreements for a variety of property-related project transactions throughout the project development life.
  • Leading discussions and the approach with internal property and legal teams in order to acquire all necessary land rights for projects in origination.
  • Supporting the Origination Managers in identifying new target projects for Solaria's pipeline.
  • Leading the commercial negotiations with landowners, land agents, and consultants to secure the development and wider land rights for Solaria projects in the south of the UK.
  • Liaising with local planning authorities and land agents/owners through the project development process.
  • Building the necessary networks of land agents and landowners across the south to ensure Solaria’s pipeline growth meets year-on-year targets.
Minimum Requirements:
  • A degree in a relevant discipline, with current membership or active progression towards membership in the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) and/or the Central Association of Agricultural Valuers (CAAV).
  • Proven expertise in renewable market dynamics, including familiarity with current trends in land transactions and the wider competitive landscape.
  • In-depth understanding of the renewable energy development process within the United Kingdom.
  • Strong negotiation skills and experience in handling contractual arrangements, ideally supported by an established network of industry contacts and confidence in stakeholder engagement.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Wales property law (an advantage).
  • Awareness of land-use systems and issues, including agricultural, forestry, and commercial sectors.
  • Advanced understanding of geography, politics, customs, and current affairs.
  • Driving license.
  • Flexibility to travel and stay overnight when required.
