Macstaff in Guildford is seeking a Lance Operator / Engineering Operative to join a small, hands-on team delivering specialist plant and machinery maintenance and cleaning to a diverse client base. You will work on site and travel from the Guildford base as required, handling equipment in varied environments.
The role includes full training, PPE supplied, a 28k starting salary with progression, and a discretionary bonus.
You will work as part of a small team, in a ‘hands on’ capacity to deliver essential specialist plant and machinery maintenance and cleaning services to our growing and diverse client base. This is a manual role working with equipment in sometimes challenging environments, requiring travel from headquarters based in Guildford.
Realistic income in year one c£38,700 and year two £39,900 based on 20025/26 actual figures - made up as follows:- Starting base salary £28,000 increasing to £29,500 on completion of 6 month training/probationary period; additional allowances/overtime of circa £9,900 per annum apportionately paid into salary monthly; discretionary 10% annual bonus; 30 days annual leave including statutory holidays, incrementally increasing by 1 day each completed year after year 2; company pension; life assurance policy. Full time and permanent role.

This role is part of a customer facing team, therefore, it is vital that you are able to display a professional and knowledgeable demeanor when working onsite. You may come from an engineering or maintenance background, but we’re happy to be flexible since a full and comprehensive training programme will ensure you are off to the best start. Driving license (essential) since you will drive our specialist vans (those vans are NOT taken home for personal use); ability to commute to and travel from our site in Guildford, and flexibility to frequently stay overnight in hotels as required (fully funded on expenses); indefinite right to remain in the UK (we are unable to offer visa sponsorship)
