Job Title: Labourer

Rate of Pay: £11.44 per hour

Contract: Permanent, Full Time

Total Weekly Contractual Hours: 39

Location: Mitie, Faraday Mill Business Park, Unit 22-23, Faraday Road, Plymouth, Devon, England, PL4 0ST

About the Role

Mitie is seeking to appoint a site Labourer for a position in Plymouth. Applicants should have previous site experience and must have their own transport (a fuel allowance will be provided). The primary responsibilities include:

1. Unloading and delivering materials
2. Passing delivery notes to the site manager or relevant personnel
3. Working alongside other site operatives
4. Preparing materials for installation

The labourer will also be required to lift and move various materials, including glass, PVC, paints, kitchen units, and plasterboard, using proper manual handling techniques and trolley aids. Additional tasks include:

• Helping with the lifting of plasterboard and other items
• Removing old kitchen units and assisting with disposal
• Removing existing concrete larders and walls
• Cleaning the office and store twice a week

Candidate Requirements

• Physical strength and endurance
• Own transport (fuel allowance provided)
• Strong work ethic and good attitude toward health and safety
• Ability to follow instructions and willingness to learn new skills
• Good communication skills
• Reliability and ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Ideally, full personal protective equipment (steel toe-cap boots, hi-vis vest, hard hat)
• Ability to provide a reference verifying experience in a similar role
