Job summary

Progress Housing Group is seeking a Labourer to support reactive repairs, void reinstatement, planned maintenance and installation work across our client properties in Leyland. You will perform labouring duties safely, assisting colleagues and ensuring work is completed to high standards.

The role requires a Full UK driving licence, strong health and safety awareness, and the ability to work autonomously. We offer competitive pay, benefits, and a supportive working environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist with reactive repairs, void reinstatement, planned maintenance and installation work across internal and external client properties.
• Carry out labouring work to a satisfactory standard, supporting colleagues to complete works safely and efficiently.
• Help ensure appointments are kept, debris is removed from site, materials are looked after and work complies with health and safety regulations.
• Communicate clearly with customers, colleagues and stakeholders, showing respect for people and their property.

Job description

• Salary: £28,552 per annum (pro rata)
• Contract Type: Fixed Term / Secondment until 26th March 2027
• Working Hours: 39 hours per week

The role

• As a Labourer, you will assist with reactive repairs, void re-instatement, planned maintenance and installation work across our internal and external client properties.
• You will carry out labouring work to a satisfactory standard, supporting colleagues to complete works safely, efficiently and with care for our customers and their homes.
• You will help ensure appointments are kept, debris is removed from site, materials are looked after properly and all work is completed in line with health and safety requirements, relevant legislation, building regulations, codes of practice and risk assessments.
• You will communicate clearly with customers, colleagues and stakeholders, treating people and their property with respect and explaining the nature and purpose of the work being carried out.

Essential

What we’re looking for

• Full UK driving licence.
• Knowledge and understanding of health and safety at work.

• Hard working, enthusiastic and flexible in your approach to the job.

Desirable

• Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS).
• Any recognised qualification, such as NVQ, SVQ or City & Guilds.
• Experience working for a social housing landlord.
• Experience of dealing with people in a customer service environment.
