Job summary

Aviagen is seeking an Assistant Lab Manager to plan, supervise a centralized laboratory, and perform standard biological, microbiological and chemical tests ensuring accuracy and timeliness while following safety precautions.

The role includes managing resources, prioritizing samples, data entry into the management system, and upholding ISO, bio-security and animal-welfare policies in a production environment. You will liaise with production facilities and QA teams to maintain product quality.

Qualifications

• Understand biology, microbiology and chemistry principles and lab applications.
• Ability to perform standardized biological, chemical, and microbiological examinations independently.
• Familiar with data management systems and data entry forms.
• Adhere to bio-security, animal welfare, safety, ISO, drug and alcohol policies.
• Capacity to plan, schedule, and prioritize samples; supervise staff.

Responsibilities

• Plan, manage and supervise a centralized laboratory.
• Process and analyze samples in a time-efficient manner.
• Enter samples and results into data management system.
• Report results to laboratory management and liaison with production facilities.
