Job Title: Laboratory Technician (Junior)

One of the UK's largest confectionery companies is seeking a Lab Technician (Junior) to join their team in Reading, at the Wokingham site. This role is ideal for recent graduates or individuals starting their career in a laboratory environment, with training provided.

Responsibilities:

1. Work flexibly across different departments, including analytical, food product development, and food manufacturing.
2. Operate in various laboratories as needed.
3. Provide high-quality customer service by organizing workload effectively, maintaining data integrity, and delivering timely and accurate results.
4. Perform routine analyses, product manufacturing, and sample preparation under supervision.
5. Follow specified methodologies and Standard Operating Procedures.
6. Use laboratory instrumentation and equipment, including calibration.
7. Record data accurately and maintain detailed records of laboratory work.
8. Follow product formulations and methods, considering food safety standards, to produce food products at bench scale or manufacturing levels.
9. Operate basic laboratory and manufacturing equipment as directed.
10. Utilize software packages such as the Laboratory’s LIMS system and Q-Pulse.
11. Perform administrative and housekeeping duties as required.

Qualifications:

• Preferably, A levels in a scientific discipline.
