Job summary

ALS in Prescot is seeking a Laboratory Technician to support routine and non-routine testing, sample prep, and QC checks. You will operate analytical instruments, maintain documentation, and ensure traceability while complying with ISO 17025 and health and safety standards.

The role offers full-time permanent employment with shift patterns and a shift allowance. The ideal candidate has hands-on lab experience and a science qualification, preferably HNC/HND in Applied Chemistry, and familiarity

Qualifications

• Experience in analytical testing laboratory or equivalent training.
• Knowledge of ISO 17025 requirements and health & safety procedures.
• Ability to follow SOPs and maintain traceability of samples.

Responsibilities

• Carry out routine and non-routine laboratory testing and sample preparation.
• Operate and monitor laboratory equipment, reporting faults or maintenance needs.
• Accurately record results and maintain documentation ensuring full sample traceability.
• Work with colleagues to meet productivity targets and support quality investigations.
