Job summary

ALS Laboratories (UK) Ltd in Wakefield is seeking a Logistics Technician to join our water testing laboratory team. You’ll register and prepare incoming samples, pack containers for distribution and help keep the lab running on time in a fast-paced environment.

Hours are 37 per week, Monday–Friday with some weekend rotations. We offer a permanent full-time role with progression, generous annual leave, pension, and perks including Perkbox and learning support.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 GCSEs at Grade C (or 4) or above, including Science, Maths and English.
• Confident IT skills including Excel and Outlook, with the ability to learn in-house systems.
• Able to work accurately to tight deadlines and prioritise tasks effectively.
• Strong teamworking skills and willingness to support colleagues.
• Follow Health & Safety requirements, including correct use of PPE and safe manual handling.

Responsibilities

• Register and prepare incoming samples promptly and accurately.
• Pack sample containers for distribution to customers.
• Rotate sample bottles and dispose of them correctly after analysis.
• Keep your workstation clean, tidy and well organised at all times.
• Process returned items and laboratory waste for recycling or disposal.
• Work in line with ISO 17025 and the company’s quality management system.
