Job summary

Arla Foods in Aylesbury is seeking a Laboratory Technician to analyse products and raw materials to ensure quality and compliance with approved standards. You'll work a 12-hour day shift pattern, monitor the laboratory quality system, and perform audits to ensure food safety and cost-effective manufacturing.

You will sample materials, conduct micro analyses, carry out sensory panels and report any out-of-spec results to the Technical Team, maintaining the non-conformance database.

Qualifications

• Experience in good laboratory practices in a manufacturing QA/Sensory setting.
• Ability to interpret analytical and microbiological data with clear written and verbal communication.
• Experience working with SAP is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Sampling raw materials and monitoring the manufacturing process for chemical and microbiological analysis.
• Conduct micro analysis of samples as per specified methods.
• Carry out product sensory panels to meet requirements and ensure quality and food safety checks.
• Inform the Technical Team of out-of-spec results and manage the non-conformance data base.

As an Arla Laboratory Technician at our Aylesbury Dairy, you will analyse and evaluate products and raw materials to ensure that quality and approved analysis standards are met.

Introduction

As an Arla Laboratory Technician at our Aylesbury Dairy, you will analyse and evaluate products and raw materials to ensure that quality and approved analysis standards are met. Working a 12 hour day shift pattern, you will monitor the Laboratory quality system, compliance and effectiveness through planned audits and independent process control checks to ensure that our products comply with food safety legislation, meet the technical and quality specification and are manufactured at best cost.

So what do our Laboratory Technician actually do?

• As a Laboratory Technician you will be sampling raw materials, monitoring the manufacturing process and finished goods in terms of chemical and microbiological analysis
• You will be conduct micro analysis of samples as per specified methods,
• You will carry out product sensory panels to meet requirements and ensure that all quality and food safety checks are carried out satisfactorily
• You will be responsible to info the Technical Team of results outside specification for instigation of corrective actions and will be responsible for control of the Non-conformance data base

What you’ll need in order to be successful in the role

We are looking for a motivated team player who is also able to work using their own initiative. Ideally you will have practical experience of good laboratory practices with experience of working in similar role in a manufacturing environment working within QA / Sensory. Microbiology testing experience is preferred but not essential. We require somebody with good written and verbal communication skills who is also PC literate with the ability to interpret analytical and microbiological data. Working knowledge of SAP would be advantageous
