Job summary

Müller Milk & Ingredients in Manchester is seeking a Laboratory Technician to assure quality through analysis and testing. You will contribute to QMS and data-driven improvements while supporting audits and internal governance.

The role requires HACCP awareness, microbiology knowledge, and proficiency in Word/Excel for reporting. Permanent contract with a 4 on/4 off shift (2 days, 2 nights, 7-7) and a salary of £34,910.16.

Qualifications

• HACCP awareness and basic food hygiene are essential.
• Experience with microbiology, aseptic techniques and QA reporting is required.
• Ability to perform internal audits and lead problem solving using data.

Responsibilities

• Provide quality-based testing and data evaluation.
• Support QA and audit processes and maintain 5S and QMS on site.
• Manage quality index reports and monthly dashboards.
• Collaborate with the team to drive continuous improvement.
• Assist with process confirmations and site quality checks.

We are looking for a Laboratory Technician to join our Manchester Dairy within our Müller Milk & Ingredients business.

The main purpose of the Laboratory Technician is assuring quality performance through analysis, subject knowledge and testing performance whilst striving to continuously improve in line with the Müller values.

Lab Technician Key Tasks

• Provide expertise through quality based testing and data evaluation
• Demonstrate active involvement in solving problems / trouble shooting through data analysis and evaluation
• Play an active part in building QMS capability across site
• Responsible for laboratory tasks and management systems (5S etc)
• Support and process confirms operations quality control responsibilities
• Provide governance and ownership of Quality Index and other monthly reports
• Responsible for internal and external audit processes
• Looks for “waste” in everything that we do
• Actively seeks out improvement opportunities within the workplace and converts to own continuous improvement projects
• Collaboratively works with other team members to improve our business
