Job summary

Eurofins in Wolverhampton is seeking a part-time laboratory analyst to complete analyses of food samples by established methods, supporting day-to-day lab operations, and maintaining quality records. You will work within two shift patterns, 20 hours per week on one pattern or 18 hours per week on the other, contributing to meeting turnaround targets and upholding health and safety standards. The role offers UK-based career development within a diverse Eurofins network.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Undertaking all tasks within the main food laboratory appropriate to the level of training given by team leaders and management.
  • Registration, preparation and analysis of food samples as required.
  • Adhering to documented procedures for all aspects of laboratory work, ensuring that all relevant information concerning samples is recorded, that samples are handled correctly, and that all necessary records and quality data are maintained.
  • Ensure all relevant paperwork is completed throughout the day.
  • Maintain turnaround time at >99%, ensuring that daily targets are achieved.
  • Responsible for ensuring that UK health and safety legislation is maintained and helping to ensure that the working environment is kept in a clean and tidy manner.
  • Work with the team to drive the laboratory forward through continuous improvement.
  • Knowledge of Laboratory Quality Manual in order to ensure compliance at all times with the policies, procedures and associated documents which are referred to in the manual.
  • To assist through operating best practice in order to meet the requirements of the UKAS accreditation standard.
  • Provide a high level of internal and external customer care.
  • A flexible approach to work will be required to assist other departments as and when required.
  • Assist with continuous improvement within the microbiology department.

Job Description

The purpose of this role is to complete, to the required quality standards, the analysis of food samples for a given method using laboratory techniques. Further, assist in the efficient day-to-day operation of the laboratory.

Part time position working one of two shift patterns:

- Sunday 15:30 to 19:30 and Monday to Thursday: 18:00 to 20:00. 20 hours per week.

- Thursday and Friday 16:00 - 22:00 and Saturday 14:30 to 20:30. 18 hours per week.
