Job summary

ALS Laboratories is seeking a Laboratory Technician to support the Microbiology department at ALS Sittingbourne. The successful candidate will test a diverse range of finished food products and ingredients using various analytical techniques. A meticulous eye for detail and the ability to follow processes and procedures are essential.

Days: 4 on 4 off (9am to 9pm). Contract: Full Time and Permanent. Annual Salary: £26,867 + £2,000 Location Allowance.

Qualifications

• Requires ability to read, understand and implement instructions accurately.
• Excellent communication skills both written and oral.
• Keen eye for detail and strong time management.
• Methodical approach to following documented procedures.

Responsibilities

• Perform analysis as allocated per documented methodologies.
• Follow processes and procedures to maximise efficiency.
• Conduct daily quality control checks and calibrations of equipment.
• Keep workstation clean, tidy and compliant with QSHE procedures.
• Record results accurately and maintain records per site systems.

The Role

The Day to Day

• To perform analysis allocated in accordance with documented methodology
• Follow all processes and procedures to maximise role efficiency.
• Conduct daily quality control checks and calibrations of equipment
• Ensure your workstation is always clean and tidy.
• To conform with all site Quality Management systems and Health and safety procedures and protocols.
• To keep accurate records.

The Essentials

• Previous laboratory experience is advantageous but not essential.
• Ability to read, understand and implement instructions accurately is vital.
• Excellent communication skills both written and oral
• Keen eye for detail
• Possess excellent time management skills.
• Methodical in your approach
