Job summary

Nottingham Trent University’s School of Animal, Rural and Environmental Science is seeking a Laboratory Technician to support practical sessions in laboratories, workshops and studios, helping create an industry-relevant learning environment and enhance the employability of students.

You will maintain a safe working environment and stay up to date with discipline knowledge, while working both independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support and guidance to students and academic colleagues during practical sessions and demonstrations in laboratories, workshops and studios.
  • Maintain a safe working environment and elevate issues where necessary.
  • Identify appropriate personal development opportunities and actively keep up to date with relevant discipline knowledge.
  • Be a team player who is willing to support others, as necessary, as well as being able to work independently.

Salary- 28,063 - £30,185 per annum

Full time/ Fixed term contract for 6 months

About the Role

As a member of the Technical Team, provide technical support and guidance to students and academic colleagues during practical sessions and demonstrations in laboratories, workshops and studios. Help create a positive, industry-relevant learning environment to enhance the employability prospects of students. Maintain a safe working environment and elevate issues where necessary. Identify appropriate personal development opportunities and actively keep up to date with relevant discipline knowledge. Be a team player who is willing to support others, as necessary, as well as being able to work independently.
