More details

As a Laboratory Technician, you’ll perform routine laboratory procedures including preparing culture media for use in clinical procedures, stock checks, management of consumables, topping up liquid nitrogen tanks and laboratory equipment cleaning.

These are just some of the day-to-day Technician tasks, but that’s not all the role is; we’ll support your training and development as you progress and learn more, all the way through to oocyte collections, therapeutic sperm preparation, diagnostic semen analysis and cryopreserving semen samples.

We’ll provide a fantastic grounding in how an IVF lab works and how they’re managed, along with providing a strong foundation in embryology techniques.

You’d be joining a great clinic, with a great team around you. You’ll have the benefit of the years of experience this team has, giving you the opportunity to learn and develop into a well-rounded member of the team.

What We Can Offer You

We’re Care Fertility and we aim to be the greatest employer of Clinical Scientists in Reproductive Medicine in the country. You’ll have unrivaled opportunities to develop your skills and abilities and participate in innovative projects in our exciting field of science. We have a range of bespoke tools such as CareMaps-AI, genetic testing cycles and a vast array of high-tech embryology procedures such as microfluidic sperm selection, computer-assisted semen analysis, automated sperm oxidative stress testing and oocyte viability testing using an AI platform, to name a few.

We have a structured careers framework that will help you plan for your future at Care Fertility. Whether you’re an aspiring STP or you want to deliver your role to the best of your ability, we have a dedicated Learning and Development team to support you through your career aspirations. We run regular internal courses that you can take advantage of and you’ll be able to access external courses to develop your skills.

In a company where hard work and great results are recognised, you can look forward to a supportive culture of collaboration where we value each other.

About You

  • Ideally you will have a Degree in Reproductive Science or a related field
  • Passion for working in a fast-paced, hands-on lab environment
  • Eager to learn, grow, and deliver high-quality scientific work
  • Strong team player and a confident independent worker
  • Excellent attention to detail and clear, inclusive communication skills

Location/Salary:

This is a 12-month fixed term contract, based at our Manchester Clinic (108, 112 Daisy Bank Rd, Manchester M14 5QH) across 08:00-16:00 Mon-Fri (with some occasional weekends required).

  • Salary of £24,350.00 per annum
